Studio Policies
-
Fees are paid at the beginning of each month by e-transfer according to the number of weeks of scheduled lessons in that month.
-
An annual tax receipt for music education will be provided.
-
Scheduled student vacation periods: a minimum of two weeks' notice is requested before the start of the new billing period (month).
-
Cancellations and absenteeism
-
If a student fails to show up or cancels a lesson with less than 24 hours notice the lesson is forfeited (non-refundable); this is fair, as the lesson time was reserved for them.
-
In-person classes may be switched to Zoom if the student with a minor illness feels more comfortable to have their lesson online. In the case of more serious illnesses, rescheduling will be given due consideration and accommodated at my discretion if there is availability
-
Other rescheduling requests for valid reasons will be given due consideration and accommodated at my discretion if there is availability
-
Classes may not be cancelled for "school examination period" reasons. Students who wish to miss their lesson may do so at their own expense. However, upon request, no homework will be assigned for theory classes during this time.
-
-
If a student stops their lessons in the middle of a month, no reimbursement will be issued for the balance of paid lessons in that month.
-
Students who will arrive late to their scheduled class are requested to please advise me by text. For online lessons, the Zoom room will remain open for 20 minutes after the scheduled lesson time. Missed lesson time will not be refunded or rescheduled.
-
If I need to cancel or am exceptionally absent for a paid lesson, it will be always be either rescheduled or credited to the following payment period.
-
International students must pay in CAD via PayPal. A PayPal transaction fee (4%) will be added to all invoices. Students are responsible for any other applicable transaction and/or currency conversion fees.
