Are online music theory lessons right for me?

An online class can be the best option for autonomous students who:

 

• live far away from a qualified teacher

• temporarily cannot attend regular studio classes 

• prefer to learn from the comfort of their home

Which courses are available?

 

All courses are based on the syllabus of the Royal Conservatory of Music.

• Intermediate theory, Levels 5-8 

• Grade 9, 10 and ARCT Harmony and Counterpoint

• ARCT Analysis

• Music History

Which materials/software do I need?

​

• RCM theory workbook of current level

• Tablet/Ipad/laptop with camera

• Zoom meeting app

• PDF scanning app

How long are the theory lessons and how much do they cost?

​​

• Private lessons:

  • 60 minutes: $ 60.00   

  • ​​​​Fees include correction of assigned homework and practice examinations

  • Siblings living at the same address may share a theory class. A supplemental correction fee applies:

    • Theory (all levels) $20​

    • Level 9 Harmony $20

    • Level 10 Harmony $25

    • Level ARCT Harmony or Analysis $30

What about scheduling and payment?

• Scheduling is flexible. Contact me for availability information.

• Fees for online classes are payable monthly by e-transfer only.

• Lessons can begin after payment is received.
