Johann Sebastian Bach

J.S. Bach was a composer who lived in Germany during the Baroque era (1600-1750).

His family had been in the music profession for five generations, and his father was a court trumpeter.  Orphaned at the age of ten, Bach was taught the organ by his older brother.  Before long, Bach became one of Germany’s greatest organists, as well as an accomplished violinist.
